Advertised Job Summary
The Department of Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences ( DDBS ) in the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy ( http://www.sc.edu/pharmacy ) in Columbia, SC is currently seeking an ambitious individual for a 12-month full time tenure track Assistant Professor position. DDBS seeks an outstanding junior scientist with primary expertise in the field of neuroscience. The candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded research program, demonstrate excellence in teaching and trainee mentorship in our professional pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences graduate programs, and contribute to departmental activities. The candidate will join a highly dynamic and collegial academic environment that encourages multidisciplinary collaboration. The candidate will receive a competitive start-up package, generous laboratory space, and access to state-of the-art core facilities in DDBS and at UofSC.

Required Education and Experience
A PhD. or equivalent degree, post-doctoral training, and a published track record of research accomplishments in neuropharmacology and neuroscience.

The candidate will be expected to develop a robust independent research program with interests relevant to neuroscience research including, but not limited to, molecular and cellular mechanisms and models, and targeted therapeutics. The candidate will be expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills and be expected to participate in graduate and professional education, with an emphasis on neuropharmacological topics.
