Family Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania, a private non-profit organization founded in 1895, is searching for a candidate with exceptional leadership skills and vision to continue to advance our service mission to the families and communities of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The current Executive will be retiring later in the year.
FSA NEPA is rooted in values of strengths-based and person-centered practice in its delivery of a diversity of services across the age-spectrum of our community (visit us at www.fsanepa.org). The FYE 2021 budget of $3.4 million is built on a mix of County, State, and Federal funding, fees for services, local fundraising, and United Way support.
The qualifications for the position include a Masters degree in a discipline appropriate to directing a social service agency, with a license and/or certification, if appropriate to the discipline, and seven to ten years experience in the field of social services with demonstrated administrative and supervisory ability. The Chief Executive Officer will develop and administer, with support of Senior Management, all program activities of the Agency in accordance with policies and directions of the Board of Directors.
The agency is based in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, with a satellite office in Montrose, Pennsylvania, on the edge of the recreational opportunities of the Pocono Mountains, is home to professional hockey and baseball, a sports/entertainment arena, and within a three hour drive of New York City and Philadelphia. The area has four universities, a community college, two junior colleges, and three satellite campuses of Penn State University.
