Position Overview

We are looking for outstanding candidates with a PhD or MD/PhD in any area of corneal biology and excellent publication record to pursue innovative studies in corneal trauma/disease with a focus on both in vitro and in vivo models. Applicants should have proven experience in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, and tissue/cell culture techniques. Previous involvement in vision research is essential. Previous involvement in corneal research is preferred. Successful fellows will have a strong passion to conduct independent scientific research and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Annual stipend will be commensurate with experience and training.

Minimum Qualifications

Appropriate doctoral degree. If the degree had not been conferred at the time applicant applied for a postdoc position, a letter needs to be attached from the school’s official Graduate Office and/or Registrar’s Office certifying that all requirements for the degree have been met and stating the degree conferral date.

Job Duties


Execute experiments independently, collect data and take good notes of experiments, and keep up-to-date with the most recent literature in the field of study.


Write manuscripts and prepare materials for scientific presentations inside and outside.


Perform technical procedures involved in execution of own experiments (i.e. Analyze experimental results of experimental protocols).


Presentation of project results to internal and external parties.


Operates specialized scientific equipment.


Performs statistical analyses, including selecting the appropriate analysis procedure, setting up data for analysis, judging validity and reliability of data, designing and writing programs to perform analyses, and producing written reports on the result of the analyses.


Write research results for publication (i.e. Clearly summarize data for analysis, prepare needed figures for publication and participate in preparing revisions of manuscripts).


Provide knowledge and help with experiments as requested by graduate students.


Engaged in fieldwork and writing of technical publications and reports.
