The Department of Ophthalmology, Visual and Anatomical Sciences at Wayne State University School of Medicine seeks an exemplary faculty member at any rank in the arears of ocular surface diseases and immunology. Work in health disparities is particularly encouraged as well as publications in high impact journals that are peer reviewed.

Successful candidates are expected to develop and sustain a dynamic, externally funded research program and exhibit a commitment to excellence in graduate and medical education.

The candidate will be expected to primarily teach residents in the clinic and in the operating room. Additionally, he/she will be expected to participate in Grand Rounds and periodically provide lectures. There may be opportunity to teach medical students during their clinical rotation.

Service is expected in the School, College, and University.

Service extramurally such as study section for NIH grant review is also anticipated.

Unique Duties

Qualifications

MD or MD/PhD and a track record of research accomplishments as evidenced by high impact publications.

Faculty Rank commensurate with credentials.

If MD, must obtain Michigan Medical License.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer multiple extramurally funded active grants.
