This position acts as a functional lead for the Student Financials module and is responsible for overseeing various set up aspects of the Student Financials module within PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. This position serves as a key resource within the Cashiers Office senior leadership team, working closely with both internal staff as well as campus departmental staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for setting up new item types that are used within the student financials module. The item types are used for recording payments (credits) and charges (debits) within student financials and feed revenue and expenses to various general ledger accounts.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Student Financials PUM/Bundle Testing during quarterly and/or yearly upgrades. One aspect of this responsibility is coordinating with internal staff to make sure they complete their specific testing criteria. This task also works closely with IT programmers to troubleshoot and resolve any testing issues that are discovered. Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving any Student Financial issues within Campus Solutions that are escalated from internal staff as well as campus departmental staff; works closely with IT programmers to resolve the issue(s) and identify a permanent fix.
  • Continuously reviews tuition and fee set up, which includes testing and running weekly queries to check for tuition calculation errors; oversees monthly billing queries and reviews for accuracy prior to monthly student account billing statements being generated.
  • Responsible for granting access to the student financial pages within Campus Solutions; conducts a monthly review of employees that are no longer employed at MU and removes their security access; reviews monthly report of employees that have transferred departments and evaluates whether or not their access is still needed. Acts as the backup for granting access to TouchNet.
  • Creates and modifies various Student Financials queries; the queries are used to check the correctness of assessment as well as generate various data sets that may be requested from internal and external staff.
  • Responsible for overseeing TouchNet’s Bill+Payment feature packs which includes: reviewing and communicating the release details, testing the release details within the TEST environment, reviewing the changes in PROD once the new feature pack is deployed, and communicating with departmental staff regarding the features.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for Cost Center Departments who feed charges over to the student account; responsible for processing charges and credits, helps resolve any file upload issues, and oversees the setup of fees and waivers.
  • Responsible for overseeing the yearly 1098T IRS process; includes testing set up and running the 3C communications once the file has been published to the student account. Responsible for overseeing and creating any 3C Communication Generation processes that the Cashiers Office uses; trains staff on running the 3C processes once created.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Salary

Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000

GGS Grade: 10

M-F 8:00am to 5:00pm
40 hours per week

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Four years of Higher Education experience, preferably working in a Student Account/Bursar Office and/or Financial Aid setting at a large public university. Responsibilities should include functional tasks related to tuition and fee and/or financial aid set up. Previous experience reconciling large accounts is a plus.
