The University of Notre Dame University Operations, Events, and Safety division is currently hiring for the position of Senior Director, Leadership Events. The University Operations, Events, and Safety division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives. The Senior Director, Leadership Events is a strategic leadership position responsible and accountable for the vision, planning, and execution of high profile University events.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for University Events, this position will strategically lead the vision, planning, and execution of high profile University events supporting the President’s Office / Executive Officers, PLC, Deans, Church Officials, and University Benefactors (engagement, cultivation, and stewardship activities). The Sr. Director, Leadership Events will serve as a primary liaison to the Executive Officers and their support staff when their participation is included in such events. Moreover, this candidate will have a dotted line to the Associate Vice President for Advancement Services, and will lead strong partnerships with key constituents across University Relations (e.g., key leaders focused on campaign events, President’s Circle, Advisory Councils, Athletics Advancement, Giving Societies, etc.). He/she will be responsible for creating innovative, creative and distinctly Notre Dame experiences that articulate and underscore the University’s commitment to relationships and deliver excellence in event experiences. The Sr. Director will also lead and collaborate with peers within the University Operations, Events, and Safety division to deliver upon a best-in-class integrated vision for event staffing, technology, strategic vendor partnerships and streamlined process for the delivery of all events. The Sr. Director will lead a team of 10 event professionals to deliver more than 500 events annually. This position requires flexibility to work nights and weekends as necessary, as well as domestic and international travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree strongly preferred. Experience: 7+ years. In addition, this candidate must be a proven leader that demands excellence and creates high performing teams. • A strategic and bold thinker that can work in a fast paced and changing environment while always pursuing higher levels of excellence. • A leader that is comfortable setting a vision, creating goals, executing and objectively measuring success • Ability to attract, recruit and retain outstanding talent. • Ability to improve processes and remove resource waste while delivering higher levels of customer service. • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize in order to meet deadlines • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
Must be able to communicate with a wide variety of people from the President of the University to the newest temporary worker and work in a fast paced environment. Must lead in a professional, hospitable and empathetic manner to bring the best to the surface, of all university associates. Be welcoming, sincere and provide a great hospitality experience for all university students, staff, guests & visitors.
