Job Roles
- Under the direction of the LRMAI Director, assist in the planning and development of medical assistant courses to achieve specific objectives in accordance with the established curriculum and course syllabi
- Implement specialized COVID-19 training based on up-to-date CDC guidelines
- Effectively organize and present subject matter to students
- Use evidence-based, active teaching strategies to facilitate learning
- Objectively evaluate students for academic performance in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings
- Perform ongoing student assessments to identify learning needs and address accordingly
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching and instruction
- Maintain the highest level of professional and ethical academic standards
- Effectively monitor students' performance and provide immediate supervision of students in clinical training while they demonstrate clinical skills in lab
- Assist in the coordination and supervision of the clinical externship
- Maintain student records to include academic grades, attendance, and behavioral performance assessments
- Commitment to cultural responsiveness and serving students from underserved or underrepresented populations in accordance with the school's mission
- Adheres to programmatic accrediting requirements
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Diploma from an approved course required
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the skills, knowledge and ability to perform the essential job duties, and which meets any required state or federal certification requirements.
- Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS) required
- Assessment-Based Certificate Program in Allied Health Education (ABC-AHE) certification highly preferred
- Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Requires an active Class C California driver's license, proof of liability insurance at $100,000, on vehicle used. No more than 2 points in past 12 months; No suspensions in last 2 years for moving violations; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 5 years. No license revocation in 7 years.
Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and computer skills
- Minimum 4 years practical Medical Assistant experience required
- Minimum 2 years' practical experience as a Medical Assistant educator, preceptor, or lead preferred

64,480.00 - 85,973.33If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
