Assistant Lab Manager / System Administrator
Job Description
MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- 5+ years' experience with network cabling such as types of fiber and copper (SMF, MMF, CAT6A, coaxial)
- Prior lab experience (Stand up, maintaining, leading, etc.)
- Familiar with basic server hardware and components (CPU, memory, storage, NICs, etc.)
- Network installation & maintenance (rack & stack, cabling, parts replacement, etc.)
- Hardware and Peripheral knowledge
- Ability to regularly lift equipment weighing up to 45 lbs.
- Excellent documentation skills
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- IT Laboratory Services and Administration protocols
- Voice Over IP (VOIP) configuration and coordination

SRC is searching for a well-rounded Systems Administrator with experience configuring, operations and maintenance (O&M), and implementing Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) network topologies on Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) Secret Wide Area Network (SWAN) networking devices and IT infrastructure to support sustainment and modernization of Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific's (NIWC PAC) Information Operations Division, Code 756 systems. These systems consist of an on-premises VMware ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V Hypervisors Sustainment of NIWC PAC systems will be conducted at the government's facilities in San Diego, CA. Duties & Responsibilities include:
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with lab management as main role
- Assists with policies, procedures, and regulations that may affect physical security expectations
- Assists in moving and racking equipment as directed
- Conducts physical security and risk vulnerability inspections, evaluates, and provides recommendations
- Evaluates existing security procedures
- Applies appropriate security standards
- Reads and comprehends rack elevations, patching matrices, network topologies
- Maintains all security documentation/files accurately for document control, visitor control, and personnel security
actions - Responsible for alarms, inspections, networking, entry/exits, media custodian etc.
- Works late hours or respond to lab issues after hours
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed
