Job Summary
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is a vibrant and growing department with a combined academic and patient care budget of over $60 million. It seeks an experienced Financial Specialist to join a team that provides efficient and effective administration of faculty financial operations, collaborates effectively across departments, and builds strong team member relationships. The position is primarily remote but may require some on-site work.

Responsibilities*
This position plays a pivotal role in the department's success. It is responsible for downloading and analyzing numerous reports and data relating to faculty activity, including collections, visits, surgery counts, and relative value units (RVUs) for faculty performance management and compensation administration. The Financial Specialist will partner with financial and department leadership to identify trends and insights toward achieving strategic goals, making their contribution invaluable. Additional duties include processing incentive payments, calculating faculty targets and updating efforts and department budget earning (DBEs), reconciling accounts, other data analytics, journal entries, problem-solving, and assisting with the annual budget.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
