The Registered Nurse (RN) for Neurosurgery will be a resource for practice related care of patients. This position would help support of the practices of clinical neurosurgeons and tasks will include, patient messaging, triage of calls and symptom management, the coordination of patient care and assisting with authorization processes.
Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. Duties at this level are performed under general supervision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
RN License issued by the State of California.
BART or BLS/CPR certification at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
Three (3) years recent ambulatory outpatient clinic nursing experience. Recent is within six (6) months.
Neurosurgery care experience, Cranial or Endovascular experience.
Case Management, Care Navigation, Care Coordination experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
- Neurology/Specialty experience.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17
Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
