Analytics Engineer Intern - Undergraduate

About the Team:
The Partner Analytics team captures essential metadata and telemetry metrics from the PlayStation console and, through a sophisticated data and software engineering pipeline, transforms this console data into actionable insights for our partners. The process covers data engineering all the way to visualization and data storytelling, which will be the primary focus for the intern. Our goal is to enhance the PlayStation gaming experience by democratizing data across SIE and externally for game developers. The intern will also have the opportunity to contribute to our Data Visualization strategy and work on key projects within our business intelligence space, primarily using Domo, to support internal SIE teams on their data visualization journey.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Translate business objectives into technical requirements to develop solutions across both database and business intelligence platforms
- Support Partner Analytics team members with day-to-day project work
- Design effective data visualizations across multiple delivery points within the enterprise architecture
- Assist in analyzing, designing, and building the data architecture and pipeline
- Optimize and embed content requirements across the enterprise architecture
- Complete and present a final intern project, with a focus on delivering an improved data consumption experience for end users
What We're Looking For:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree, with expected graduation by Spring 2026
- Experience with or eagerness to learn how to develop insightful visualizations using BI tools (e.g., Domo, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, etc.)
- Passion for turning complex data into user-focused, intuitive, and high-performance visualizations
- Basic understanding of SQL principles and willingness to learn database technologies, including relational, columnar, and NoSQL (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Netezza, MySQL, Oracle, MSSQL, Vertica, MongoDB)
- Eagerness to work with large data sets, data architecture, complex data pipelines, and data management and governance
- Desire to leverage scripting and big data technologies (e.g., Python, Java)
- Goal-oriented with strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated, responsive, and dedicated to customer success
- Innovative, problem-solving, and solutions-oriented mindset
- Ability to learn quickly, collaborate effectively as a team player, and manage change efficiently
- Strong organizational, presentation, and communication skills-both verbal and written
Eligibility:
- Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
- Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
- Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
- Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role's base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
