Job Summary
This is a 2-Year Term-Limited Position (100% effort / 40 hours per week)
Established in September 2011, the Program Evaluation Group at the University of Michigan School of Social Work engages with community organizations to provide professional evaluation and data services. Our work is grounded in values of equity and social justice. The Program Evaluation Group uses a utilization-focused approach to evaluation that prioritizes dynamic partnership throughout the evaluation process in service of actionable and meaningful results. The Program Evaluation Group primarily works with community based organizations including nonprofit agencies, government entities and foundations, as well as departments within the University of Michigan. As a primarily self-funded unit, the Program Evaluation Group regularly engages in new project development, cultivating collaborations, and grant writing.
The Program Evaluation Group is seeking an Evaluation Associate to oversee and support several evaluation projects. The Evaluation Associate will work closely with faculty, staff, students and community partners to implement project objectives. This position will have responsibilities in a number of areas, including grant writing, project management, collaborative relationship development with faculty and community stakeholders, data management and analysis, report writing, and dissemination of results.
This position requires the ability to work on site at the School of Social Work for a minimum of 3 days per week. Travel for project activity may be required. Project data collection activities may require working outside of traditional business hours.
Responsibilities*
Proposal Writing: Assist faculty and staff in drafting grant proposals, seeking funding opportunities, and collaborating with community partners on evaluation design for proposal development.
Project Management: Provide oversight and support for existing projects and new projects that emerge; plan and manage timelines and deliverables, coordinate meetings, events and programmatic activities, coordinate and supervise the work of others, gather and analyze data, and ensure efforts are coordinated to meet overarching goals.
Collaborative Work: Collaborate with university, community and research partners, identify opportunities to engage with partners and cultivate collaborations, visit partner organizations to establish working relationships and build trust.
Data Management and Analysis: Oversee evaluation activities including gather, process, merge, manage and archive project data; design and enter data into databases; create, maintain, and archive data and program documentation and analyze results.
Dissemination: Draft publications such as memos, presentations, briefs, and reports; assist in creating and maintaining web-based resources and present findings.
Supervision: Provide project-based oversight including supervision of staff and graduate interns; other duties as assigned.
