The RoleAs we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are hiring for a Regional Technical Specialist in Clinical Laboratories supporting . The Regional Technical Specialist provides technical and sales support for assigned product lines to existing accounts. Primarily through adding new assays, troubleshooting, and supporting the sales process within a set of assigned accounts. Responsible for leading and influencing the technical adoption of Clinical Laboratory (CL) or Transfusion Medicine products and serve as an integrated technical expert. Demonstrates an advanced level of skill and leadership the areas beyond the Field Application Specialist (FAS) key activities on a consistent basis. Regional Technical Specialists will be assigned to one of two areas of responsibility: Clinical Lab (CL) or Transfusion Medicine (TM) product lines.
This is a remote role supporting the Appalachian Technical Region: OH, KY, WV, VA, NC and SC.
The Responsibilities
Provides advanced troubleshooting with customers and IDNs (Integrated Delivery Network) as needed within existing customers. Coordinates resources for situations and problems that require higher levels of support. Directs and implements corrective actions for escalated customers across region and nationally, including IDN customers.
Assists customers and FASs with menu review and menu addition, both during validation and following test of record of analyzers and using VITROS / Vision technology to build and expand reagent revenue. Supports sales activities to drive the business and meet company goals.
Develops and executes strategic territory and account plans to prioritize, pursue, and convert competitive accounts; teams with Strategic Account Executives in all relevant IDN-related planning activities.
Coaches and assists FASs as a SME (Subject Matter Expert) with respect to FAS procedures such as system verification support, proprietary software use, and tools. Provides leadership and project management over multiple system installs and IDN instrument projects.
Acts as a resource, as needed, for a higher level of field expertise surrounding IDN projects that involve multiple instrument implementations, IDN customer training, IDN Sales support, and additional strategic needs at the IDN customer level.
Participates in formal complaint handling process, troubleshooting, and re-training related to VITROS / Vision technology. Ensures that technical issues are resolved in a timely and complete manner.
Makes sound fiscal decisions and assures maximum return on investment for all expenditures.
Represents QuidelOrtho at trade shows and professional meetings.

Required:
Education: BS degree in Medical Technology. Solid Clinical Chemistry/Transfusion Medicine market knowledge for the purpose of understanding market forces impacting the business.
Experience: 6-8 years' experience in Clinical Laboratory/Transfusion Medicine or equivalent experience. Advanced knowledge of customer Clinical Chemistry/Transfusion Medicine processes. Capable of training at a variety of levels.
Demonstrates solid product knowledge and skills on all CL products/TM products related to theory, techniques, processes, procedures, equipment, and materials necessary to do the job effectively.
Strategic thinking skills and ability to translate strategies into executable tactical action plans.
Ability to deliver results while working in a highly independent and fast-paced team environment.
Commercial & Business acumen. Proficient at uncovering key business issues and providing insightful, actionable recommendations for improvement.
Entry-level people management and people development skills.
Manages complex sales cycle internally and externally.
Ability to analyze financial data and generate logical strategies and plans based on analysis.
Proficiency in MS Office (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred.
Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
Solid communication skills - written and verbal.
Ability to uphold and support individual and company values.
High degree of ethics and professionalism while interacting with customers, vendors, and co- workers.
Ability to manage confidential information is required.
Ability to work under general supervision following established procedures required.
Must have a valid US driver's license in good standing.
Travel: Overnight travel of 50-75% will be required, depending up on workflow.
The Key Working Relationships
Internal Partners:
Interacts frequently with Sales Leadership, Specialty Sales, Sales Administration, Customer Service/Technical Support, Technical teams, and Distribution to maximize achievement of corporate goals. Interacts with other aspects of the organization as required (e.g., Finance, HR, IT, etc.) Also interacts with end use customers and distributors in a variety of settings and at levels from individual contributor to high level decision maker. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires a review of identifiable factors. Consults, troubleshoots, and implements corrective actions with end use customers in conjunction with account managers or distributors. Works with minimal supervision.
The Work EnvironmentTypical outside field based environment. Must have the discipline, organization skills and self-motivation to work autonomously in a home office environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally required to reach, climb, or balance. Must be physically able to travel up to 75%. Must maintain a valid driver's license and must own and maintain an automobile suitable for travel to customer sites, airport, etc. Travel includes airplane, train, automobile, and overnights. On a typical workday, 80% of time meeting with people, 20% of the time on computer, doing paperwork, or on phone. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Salary TransparencyThe salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $136,000 and is eligible for incentive compensation. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
