Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This temporary full-time position is located in Rockville, MD at the Universities at Shady Grove.
Career Readiness/Transfer Success Coordinator will provide coaching and support to students.
Responsibilities include the following: 1-on-1 and small group coaching related to career readiness, provision of guidance on how to transfer to an academic program offered at USG; development and execution of interactive career readiness competency training based on Montgomery County’s Hire U Framework; development and execution of flexible format career experiences such as networking, industry panels, job shadowing, career immersions, internships, etc.; gathering available resources for college and career success and making customized referrals for services; conducting student outreach for high levels of engagement in career and transfer readiness programming for scholarship recipients. This position is also critical to data collection and reporting to HIF & Longview stakeholders regarding student engagement in career programming, career outcomes, and more; the Coordinator will collaborate with team members from this unit who provide career and transfer support to post-secondary students.
This position requires working some evenings and weekends as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree.

Experience:
- One year of experience supporting college students (or students pursuing higher education) with an emphasis on career related topics; extensive written and verbal communication skills; ability to use and/or learn various computer systems; skilled at basic document design and capable of contributing to stakeholder reporting and communications.
Preferences:
Preferences
- Experience working with transfer students.
- Knowledge of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) career competencies. and experience using those competencies to develop student focused programming.
- Experience in data management and reporting.
- Experience leading interactive training related to college and career.
Additional Information:
- This is a temporary full-time position.
- As a Contingent I, This position is funded for an initial six (6) months by the HIF & Longview Funds. This position may be extended beyond this initial period based on the availability of funding.
- Hiring range $26-$27/hr.
