Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Finance Manager manages the financial activities of all sponsored and non-sponsored accounts. The Finance Manager will create budgets; generate andmaintain financial projections; provide financial data needed to manage contracts;develop reports and brief financial information at meetings and work withmanagers and directors to help manage resource allocations across the Center.The Finance Manager will also oversee procurement, travel, inventory,contracting, and invoicing for the Center. The Finance Manager will manage oneor more finance team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience:
3 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or comparable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data and produce detailed reports.
  • Ability to prepare and produce presentations, reports, and monthly reviews.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to learn new software systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Experience using University of Maryland, or similar, financial systems.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) uniform guidance.
  • Experience with sponsored research projects, preferably federal government grants and contracts.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.

Additional Information:

Salary range $80,000-$100,000.
