Senior Director FP&A Corporate
Job Description
Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.
Position Summary:
This position will be a key leader within the Strategic Finance organization, acting as the Corporate FP&A leader. Position will manage all ongoing corporate planning processes, support best in class decision support, and coach/develop team. Position requires close collaboration with cross-functional operational leadership as well as the executive team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead all corporate planning process including annual operating plan, long range plan, sum-of-the-parts, monthly reporting, quarterly earnings call support, and board of directors materials
- Serve as finance partner to the Business Development deal team. Responsible for maintaining and improving corporate valuation model, acting as finance representative in diligence team meetings, performing extensive financial analysis, and providing strategic input throughout the entire diligence process.
- Coordinate organizational alignment on resource allocation and strategy
- Coach and develop corporate FP&A team
- Communicate real-time changes in assumptions and business trends to leadership. Develop, evolve, and publish regular KPI/metric reporting to track results and identify trends
- Manage consolidation of financial statements forecasts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Maintain high level of accuracy and attention to detail in consolidation of corporate reporting
- Sustain and improve ERP systems and integration with other corporate systems
- Oversee industry benchmarking and peer set monitoring
- Build strong relationships with FP&A business partners and other functions within Strategic Finance team, Accounting, cross functional partners, and executive management
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics. CPA/CFA/MBA preferred. 12 plus years of experience in corporate finance, banking, or consulting. Pharma, Biotech, or healthcare industry experience required. An equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable job experience may be considered.
- Industry specific experience, with extensive understanding of biotech value drivers, including revenue, Commercial operations, clinical development, and portfolio management
- Financial modeling skills for all stages of biotech programs, including ability to Perform scenario analysis on variety of possible outcomes
- Strong track record of team building and managerial responsibility
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to work in a results-oriented, project-driven, real-time team environment, prioritize projects and deliver quality results within tight time constraints
- Record of problem solving through data analysis and cross-functional partnership
- Communicate details and tradeoffs of opportunities in a well thought out manner to senior leadership
- Ability to be deeply involved in daily operations of the company, not simply view from afar
- Ability to anticipate issues, ensure data integrity and accuracy of details while being capable of higher-level interpretation and explanation
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience operating with candid transparency, professionalism, strong emotional intelligence, and the highest degree of integrity
- Experience with NetSuite and Workday Adaptive Planning a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.
