Oceaneering International Inc. Oceaneering Technologies (OII-OTECH) supports the US Navy's submarine rescue mission through the Submarine Rescue Operations and Maintenance Contract (SROMC). Oceaneering partners with the Navy's Undersea Rescue Command (URC) to provide 24/7 world-wide submarine rescue capability to US, allied and other foreign navy requests to assist disabled submarines (DISSUB) or submersible intervention and rescue. OII-OTECH is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager who will supervise all maintenance on US Navy submarine rescue systems and support equipment. The Assistant Maintenance Manager will report to the Maintenance Manager and will work closely with government stakeholders, including the staff of Undersea Rescue Command (URC) and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) to establish and enforce submarine rescue system Quality Assurance and maintenance procedures. The Assistant Maintenance Manager will also serve in a direct operational / watchstanding role embarked on working vessels during at sea operations.
Base pay rate for this position is $50.00 to $60.00
ESSENTIAL
* Responsible for OTECH personnel and operations. Manages field engineers as necessary.
* Evaluate and direct implementation of in-process maintenance and operations.
* Support and instill a safety culture within the team that is in compliance with Oceaneering's Life Safety Rules and HSE program.
* Participate in the development of system maintenance scheduling, execution and testing as required.
* Provide oversight of the completion/verification of all systems maintenance tasking and testing.
* Ensure adherence to the required specifications and standards for all maintenance actions.
* Personnel management and evaluation including employee motivation and determination of precise job requirements.
* Determine the most effective and productive methods to enhance capabilities, safety maintenance, control UDCs and value engineering.
* Advise, consult and/or counsel contacts and customers as necessary to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas and actions.
* Work is diversified and complex, resulting in problems which are not readily apparent; symptoms may be vague, and facts may be incomplete. Solutions require use of independent judgment following company policies and procedures.
* Formulating methods and processes to perform each specific project in the most efficient and productive manner. Position requires frequent application of original and independent thinking in developing moderately complex methods, products, or systems.
* Making decisions and taking independent action, following broad objectives on strategic and operational matter affecting a major function or department in the organization. Decisions are subject to guidance from executive/senior management. This may include determining the priority of projects, personnel requirements, and control of overhead costs.
* Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED
* Personnel Management training or equivalent on the job training and experience required.
* The ability to understand and effectively manage issues with the customer in a high paced and dynamic environment.
* 8 years' experience in a technical field with at least 5 years in a responsible management position.
* Demonstrated understanding of the design and production problems of the technical areas.
* Demonstrated understanding of manned/unmanned subsea systems.
* Understands the demands of the program being supported and is familiar with the technical and personnel issues.
* May have achieved a recognized professional standing in a selected technical field.
* Demonstrates well-developed leadership qualities.
* Demonstrated writing and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work as a team member ashore and afloat aboard working vessels.
* Extensive travel and the ability to work away from home for periods up to 45 days.
* Ability to obtain DoD Security Clearance.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
DESIRED
* To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
* Working knowledge of American Bureau of Shipping rules and/or other classification society rules.
* Working knowledge of NAVSEA certification programs for both Deep Submergence Systems and Diving & Manned Hyperbaric Systems.
* Proficiency with a variety of field concepts, practices, procedures and equipment operations such as GPS, Side Scan Sonars, ROV and Launch and Recovery and Hyperbaric systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is considered OFFICE and FIELD which is characterized as follows.
* Indoors/Shop during the day and occasionally at night (50%).
* Outside / at sea / mobilized, frequently working on or near moving and vibrating equipment (50%).
* Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures.
* Job tasks are performed in close physical proximity to other people.
