*Key Responsibilities:*
* Fabricate Proof-of-Concept Prototypes:
* Follow engineering instructions to create prototypes from scratch or modify existing hardware.
* Perform CAD/CAM design work as needed.
* Order additional materials and tools if necessary.
* Operate lab machines for fabrication.
* Communicate completion, delays, or issues to the requesting engineer.
* Fabricate Fixtures:
* Create in-lab fixtures from scratch or modify existing hardware based on engineering instructions.
* Perform Investigation/Analysis:
* Conduct destructive or non-destructive analysis on hardware as requested.
* Operate OMM or CT Scanner for non-destructive analysis.
* Use additional lab machines for destructive analysis.
* Provide data or reports to the requesting engineer.
* Equipment Maintenance:
* Serve as the focal point for external equipment vendors.
* Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, labeled, and documented.
* Coordinate logistics for equipment maintenance, certification, or repair.
* Maintain and store all relevant equipment records for review.
* Lab Maintenance:
* Address EHS and facilities needs in the Prototype Lab.
* Regularly clean lab debris, take out the trash and put away used tools.
* Maintain lab cleanliness to meet safety/EHS standards.
* Refill lab consumables and reorder stock as needed.
* Continuous Improvement:
* Identify and recommend improvements in lab function, safety, and processes.
* Suggest new lab equipment or machines.
*Skills and Qualifications:*
* Hardware and/or Mechanical Engineering
* Troubleshooting
* Consumer electronics
* Hands-on machining/fabrication
* Understaing of datums and tolerance
* Safety-first mentality
