Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning for Business Administration courses. This is a 9-month, tenure track position.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Teaching responsibilities consist of 12 credit hours per semester comprising of lectures and labs.
  • Primary responsibility will be instruction of undergraduate and graduate business courses such as Introduction to Business, and Principles of Management, Finance, Marketing, and Economics. Candidate should be able to teach in two or more fields such as Management, Accounting or Marketing.
  • Develop syllabi, maintain materials, and supplies for the classes assigned.
  • Student advising for major and minor degree plans.
  • Establishes, monitors, and modifies work schedules and assignments of work-study students and graduate assistants working within the Business Administration disciplines.
  • Adapt courses to current technology applicable to the discipline and teach online and/or televised courses as needed.
  • Provides a broad range of administrative and supervisory functions. Supervises assigned staff in accordance with WNMU personnel practices including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, guidance, etc. Participates in the process of ongoing personal and professional development. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts (internal and external). Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with WNMU philosophy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Job Knowledge: Ability and willingness to adapt courses to current technology applicable to the discipline and teach online and/or televised courses. Must have the qualifications to teach other discipline or content areas such as Management, Accounting or Marketing. Experience teaching web-based courses. Experience in research, publications, and securing grants. Experience serving on university committees or related community organizations. Participation in state or national professional organizations. Must be able to adapt to instructional needs of the department depending on circumstances. Must be knowledgeable of University policies and procedures. Must be able to handle multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy. Must be sensitive to cultural differences within the University and community. Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications. May be required to work additional hours or days depending on circumstances.
  • Working Conditions/Physical Demands (With or Without Accommodations): Normal classroom environment. May be required to lift normal office equipment and materials. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information. Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication. Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions. Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:

Doctorate in a business discipline with a major, minor, or concentration in the area(s) of teaching responsibility, or with a professional certification in the area(s) of teaching responsibility, or with 5 or more years of professional Business management experience; or Doctorate in a non-business discipline and at least 15 graduate credits in the area(s) of teaching responsibility with successful past teaching experience, professional Business management and/or consulting experience, and scholarly activity; or ABDs nearing completion and applicants who have master's degrees in Business with a major, minor, or concentration in the area(s) of teaching responsibility, or with a professional certification in the area(s) of teaching responsibility, or with 5 or more years of professional Business management experience. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
