Advisor, Admissions - Coleman
Job Description
We are currently seeking an Admissions Advisor who will advance the institution’s proud tradition of excellence in academics, student life and community service.
JOB SUMMARY
The Admissions Advisor assists in developing and implementing student recruitment and outreach, designed to meet enrollment goals in targeted geographic areas and specific student populations; maintain an ongoing presence in assigned Independent School Districts (ISDs) and neighboring community-based organizations; strategize on opportunities to enhance recruitment efforts and implements identified strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Recruit students in compliance with HCC's Non-Discrimination Policy; recruit high school junior and senior students for various dual credit courses.
Foster relationships with assigned ISDs, be the primary contact between the College and high school counselors/students for the onboarding of students.
Assess and promptly respond to the needs and concerns of prospective students, applicants, and parents through various communication mediums.
Establish a recruitment plan to continuously fill the prospective and applicant student pipeline; increase the conversion rate(s) of graduating high school students and other student pipelines.
Collaborate with various departments to assist students in completing checklist items; communicate with the student pipeline to move across to enrollment.
Establish and maintain a thorough knowledge of all programs at the College, including but not limited to the academic, workforce, adult education, and non-credit programs.
Provide detailed information regarding career and pathways planning, admissions, and enrollment processes.
Lead and facilitate information sessions and sessions on admissions requirements for internal and prospective students, virtually and in person.
Work closely with specific departments on recruitment initiatives; attend recruitment functions of high schools, colleges, community fairs, partner events.
Develop a network with external businesses, churches, and other agencies, to promote HCC programs.
Host recruiting fairs and similar outreach events throughout the year to attract new students to HCC; support Mobile Go recruitment activities and District sponsored Outreach and Recruitment events.
Maintain an accurate log within the CRM of personal touchpoints and engagement activities with prospective and applicants.
Identify and coordinate assessment procedures for individuals entering HCC programs.
Manage a caseload of prospects and applicants; generate and distribute recruitment reports via the CRM.
Collaborate with the Office of Public Information to develop marketing materials.
Prepare the colleges' admission staff and COEs, utilizing presentation and promotional materials, COEs for college recruitment fairs, conferences, and related outreach events.
Perform other duties, tasks, and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 3 years directly related experience working with a diverse population preferred.
- Higher Education work experience preferred
- Experience with a CRM product preferred
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Banner, or other student systems preferred
Licensing & Certification
- Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
