Job Description

Lake Land College, a public, comprehensive community college in East Central Illinois, seeks an experienced and energetic leader to serve as its next Vice President for Student Services. Reporting to the President, the Vice President is the chief student services officer of the College and guides overall leadership and vision for the student services unit of the college, including policy formation, budgeting, staffing, service development and continuous improvement. The Vice President works as part of the executive leadership team to champion a progressive, student-centered learning environment through the oversight and support of a Guided Pathways approach for enhancing student success. The Vice President will nurture a strong student services leadership team, while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for all students, faculty and staff. As the chief student services officer, the Vice President provides strategic and innovative leadership and oversight for all student services operations and departments of the College including Enrollment and Student Success, Career Services, Counseling and Student Conduct, Financial Aid and Veterans Services, Athletics, Marketing and Public Relations, Student Life, and TRIO Programs. The Vice President serves as chief advisor to the President in the formation of policies affecting all student services areas while fostering collaboration with faculty, staff, student organizations, and the communities served by the College to advance the mission of the College. As an officer of the College, the Vice President is expected to represent the College as needed.

 

The successful candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in student services or a related field, and a minimum of five years of progressive experience and proven accomplishments in student services administration including administrative experience at a dean, director or similar level with direct oversight of programs and services, departmental budgets, and full-time staff required. A Strong working knowledge of the guided pathways approach for student success, along with a documented ability to analyze and assess data for continuous improvement is essential. In addition, the successful candidate must demonstrate innovation, creativity and strategic thinking in providing a learning-centered environment for students and staff. A Doctorate and community college leadership experience is strongly preferred. 

 

 

The compensation range is up to $181,168, plus benefits, including competitive health, dental and vision insurance; generous vacation, sick leave and personal time; nine paid holidays; summer work week; State University Retirement System participation; optional 403(b)/457 plan with match; life and AD&D insurance; employee tuition assistance program and Lake Land College family tuition waivers.

 

Lake Land College serves an area of nearly 4,000 square miles, including 31 school districts and 15 counties. The College serves approximately 8,000 credit and non-credit students, and 3,600 FTE annually.
