The Siena College School of Business is seeking to hire an Adjunct Professor to teach an Entrepreneurial Finance course. Both theory and real-world experiences will be combined in this class. The elements of idea generation, valuation, technology and market assessment, business models, and deal structures for new ventures will be examined. The students will become proficient in the skills of developing and evaluating an opportunity and preparing early-stage financial models from the viewpoint of both the entrepreneur and investor. Familiarity with challenges that managers of start-ups and rapidly growing companies commonly face will be emphasized. These include questions related to: The primary business model; key categories impacting costs and ability to grow; amount, type and timing of funds raised based upon stage of development; common tools and methods utilized to arrive at reasonable valuations for companies; investment agreements and structures.
The ideal candidate will have practical entrepreneurial finance work experience as well as demonstrated teaching experience along with an earned degree in the field of business, management, or other related field at the Master's level. Review of credentials will begin immediately. The preferred start date is September 2021. A background screening will be required.
