POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for designing, implementing, assessing and maintaining a comprehensive outreach, recruitment and orientation plan designed to support the college’s enrollment goals.OVERVIEW OF CCA
The Community College of Aurora serves our diverse community by providing high-quality instruction and support services to prepare students for transfer and employment. In addition to traditional degree and certificate programs, CCA offers non-credit professional development courses, customized training, and economic and workforce development resources to employer partners and individual professionals seeking to enhance the capacity and productivity of their workforce or individual knowledge and skills. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assume primary responsibility for designing the college’s outreach and recruitment plan.
- Responsible for implementing and evaluating recruitment and outreach activities, strategies and programs to recruit, admit and enroll a diverse group of students.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Center for Outreach and Recruitment. Select, train, and supervise nine professional staff members (one Assistant Director, two College Recruiters, two Part-Time Recruiters, a College Coach and three Administrative Assistant IIs).
- Prospect Development and Lead the Development and Execution of Recruitment Strategies (pre-enrollment strategies)
- Develop strategy and execute specialized events for targeted recruiting (Semester events, Camino al Colegio, CE Receptions).
- Design and develop outbound digital, phone, and in-person recruitment strategies and long-term enrollment goals for the Community College of Aurora.
- Oversee the recruitment process (pre-enrollment process) to attract potential applicants
- Assemble and lead an appropriately skilled and talented team to meet student recruitment expectations and be responsible for their training and development to improve yield across the applicant lifecycle.
- Develop strategies to increase awareness of Community College of Aurora degree programs and opportunities.
- Develop and lead an extensive number of recruitment events to increase awareness of degree that generate applications to meet recruitment targets.
- Develop relationships with and advise prospective students via phone, email and in-person meetings, continually improve processes associated with these activities to enhance prospective student satisfaction.
- Coach and develop team members to increase effectiveness of outreach and partnership development, conversion, revenue development
- Oversee and manage budget for outreach and recruitment.
- Manage the daily office operations and staff activities
- Establish and maintain relationships with all Community College of Aurora organizations and individuals involved in the marketing and prospect outreach
- Makes regular use of enrollment management data tools to identify and respond to college and departmental enrollment trends.
- Engages faculty and students in recruiting and outreach activities, working closely with the leadership team, chairs, directors, faculty, students and staff to recommend and coordinate outreach and recruiting activities.-
- Creates and delivers formal and informal presentations to a wide variety of audiences, including high school students, high school counselors, community organizations, and college students.
- Designs, develops and oversees the marketing and implementation of recruitment materials.
- Manages recruitment software system (Recruit).
- Establish and maintain relationships with external and internal constituencies including high school counselors and associated school staff; business and industry representatives; statewide admissions and outreach organizations; deans and faculty; college communications; and student success programs.
- Use college, regional, ACT, and Clarus data to target recruitment activities, and increase enrollment form the college’s service area population.
- Develop, coordinate, present, facilitate and evaluate a training program for students who have been selected to serve as Orientation Leaders.
- Evaluate all orientation programs and activities to determine their effectiveness as they relate to student learning outcomes, as well as general student and parent satisfaction.
- Report findings and incorporate information in planning activities to improve existing programs and enhance success of new ones.
- Work with University stakeholders to develop publications and coordinate communication for New Student Orientation and Welcome Week.
- Develop, plan, implement and assess all new and transfer undergraduate student orientation programs working collaboratively with academic affairs and student affairs emphasizing academic success, student development and engagement.
- Develop, maintain and assess an Online Orientation program for students unable to attend orientation in person.
- Develop and ensure Student Orientation leaders are focusing on comprehensive orientation programs for first year transfer and nontraditional students.
- Develop, monitor and manage the New Student Orientation budget to accomplish short and long term strategic planning goals.
- Manage event planning, marketing and logistics of New Student Orientation.
- Interpret, evaluate, develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement program assessment and evaluation plans for orientation programs and the orientation leader programs.
- Maintain records and statistics; retrieve and compile statistical data and prepare and submit reports and/or communications.
- Keep abreast of trends in student development, enrollment management, campus environments, and student learning theories and their application in practice. .
- Create, implement and evaluate Welcome Centers on both campuses
- Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate all welcome center staff
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A master’s degree in counseling, higher education or student affairs leadership, or a related field. Applicants with a Master’s degree currently in progress will be considered.
- Experienced recruiter with at least three years of experience designing and implementing recruitment, outreach and college pipeline programs at the college or K-12 level.
- Experience with admissions prospecting and targeted recruiting practices.
- Experienced supervisor who has a proven track record of positively coaching, supporting, motivating and communicating with the employees in order to produce highly effective and productive employees who competently, aggressively and positively meet the goals of the center for outreach and recruitment and the division of student affairs.
- Experience with the admissions prospecting software Recruit.
- Experience designing and implementing pre-collegiate programs.
- Progressive experience in New Student Orientation programs.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Salary Range: Anticipated starting salary range: $78,452.00 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information. CCA offers an excellent benefit plan, including generous leave, holiday, and education benefits. Full time employees immediately upon hire earn 15 hours a month annual leave and 10 hours a month sick leave.
