DESCRIPTION

The East Campus Medical Center ICU consists of 24 beds; 14 ICU beds (located on the 2nd floor),& 10 critical care beds (located on the 5th floor). The Department provides care for adult medical and surgical patients requiring a high level of care as well as intensive monitoring. Conditions for which patients are typically admitted to the ICU include cardiac and cardiovascular disease, respiratory failure, neuro- muscular disease, renal failure, electrolyte abnormalities and hypovolemic shock. Post surgical patients typically include those having abdominal surgery, Bariatric surgery and spine surgery.

The Nurse Manager is involved in ensuring optimal patient outcomes through effective leadership and / or provision of patient care delivery in assigned nursing unit(s) or area(s). Promotes environment for a shared voice in nursing practice and exchange of ideas to continually improve nursing and patient care outcomes. Accountable for the quality, safety, patient experience and cost-effectiveness of patient care. Consults and collaborates with other health care professionals to coordinate the management of patient care. Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, students and others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

  • Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.

  • Current ART certification, or BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.

  • Seven (7+) or more years of relevant experience, including at least three (3) years of adult ICU RN experience in an acute care hospital.

  • Three (3+) or more years of recent RN supervisory or management experience.

  • Proven hospital management skills, with progressive expertise in patient care services.

  • Knowledge to manage disaster incidents, sentinel events and ability to problem solve with critical thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant healthcare information technology and patient care workflows and processes.

  • Proven knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, as well as related legislative, accreditation, licensing and compliance environments.

  • Must have excellent skills to communicate and effectively influence all levels of staff, physicians, patients and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's Degree in Nursing or relevant area.

  • Specialty certification in relevant area (e.g. CCRN).

  • Process improvement / Lean Six Sigma experience.

  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $145,200 - $289,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $69.54 - $138.41

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
