Essential Job Duties
- Design and Implementation of strength, flexibility, mobility, agility, speed, and conditioning program for assigned sports. Training protocols are expected to be within the NC State Strength training philosophy.
- Identify and prepare for daily routines, both individual and group settings for weight room and on field work (Baseball).
- Lead and oversee daily pre-practice movement preparation and activation for individual and team (Baseball).
- Integration with on field staff to improve players movement patterns.
- Assessment of pitching/hitting biomechanics – Work in heavy collaboration with ATC/pitching coach for development of post-outing recovery sessions/lifts (Baseball).
- Utilize various technologies (Perch, Keiser, Smartabase).
- Maintain knowledge of latest trends in performance training and leading practices in sport responsibilities. Will be expected to provide input on training theories in rotational sport methodology.
- Implement timely tests and evaluations of assigned programs.
- Ability to travel.
- Develop a seamless line of communication with the Director of Strength and Conditioning and the Pack Performance team (Mental Health and Performance, Sport Nutrition, Sport Medicine, Academics) regarding the health, welfare, physical or scholastic development of the student-athlete which includes timely reporting and response to the Director’s inquiries or assignments.
- Management of the auxiliary weight room and weight room scheduling. Position responsibilities will include maintenance of strength and conditioning equipment and facility.
- Enforce intercollegiate weight room rules and etiquette.
- Be in full compliance with NCAA rules and regulations.
- Be in full compliance with NC State policies and procedures.
Other Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 5+ years experience working in a Collegiate Strength & Conditioning program.
Other Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to lift 90 pounds or more on a frequent basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree preferred in Physical Education, Exercise Science or Related Field.
Required License(s) or Certification(s)
- CSCS certification required.
Valid NC Driver's License required
