Position Summary
The Career & Technical Education Department is recruiting for a full-time EMS Faculty-Clinical Coordinator. This twelve month position serves as instructor for lecture and lab for EMT classes and assists with advanced labs in AEMT and Paramedic classes. This position will also assist in scheduling and documentation of all clinical assignments.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee EMT classes and teach in labs.
- Assist Program Coordinator to set up equipment prior to lab/skill sessions.
- Assist in scheduling and documentation of all clinical assignments.
- Manage equipment and IT including:
- Driving simulator
- Oculus
- High fidelity Sims
- Teach assigned lab sessions using techniques that engage the students in active learning.
- Monitor student performance/behavior for learning, professionalism, and compliance with college and program policies. Redirect as appropriate and/or report concerns to the Program Coordinator.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Licensed Paramedic issued by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
- National Registry Paramedic certification preferred.
- TDSHS Coordinator, or must obtain within 1 year of hire.
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a 911 Paramedic
- AHA BLS, ACLS and PALS Instructor
- NAEMT PHTLS, AMLS Instructor
- Prior initial EMS teaching experience is preferred.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds while loading office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
