Postdoctoral Associate in Materials

Job Description

POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Mechanical Engineering (MechE), to work on the processing of graphene and carbon-based materials in the laboratory of Professor Rohit Karnik on a collaborative project focusing on semiconductor manufacturing in collaboration with Professor Jeehwan Kim and others.  Will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities and be part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team working on a DARPA-funded project, communicate research findings through presentations and scientific publications, and contribute to proposal writing.  

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED: Ph.D. in materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field with a focus on materials characterization and processing; proven experience conducting high-quality research in materials, especially with graphene or other two-dimensional materials, nanoscale materials characterization, scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy, and plasma physics for materials processing; excellent problem solving, analytical, and written and verbal professional communication skills; and ability to conduct high-quality research in materials and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.  Job #24386
