Student Worker - Fine Arts - Music
Job Description
Position Summary
The Fine Arts Department is recruiting for a part-time student worker. This position is responsible for assisting the staff in the Fine Arts Music Department in the delivery of student-centered support services. This position assists in responding to student inquiries while fostering an environment of exceptional customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with performing office duties such as answering phones, greeting students, monitoring email, data entry, making copies, and other clerical duties as needed
- Responsible for stamping new music with department stamp, numbering new music, and putting returned music in order by number
- Unlocking practice rooms for music students
- Assist with setting up and moving musical instruments for college music performances
- Assist with preparation for Music Department events
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Department Chair and/or Music Instructors
Qualifications
- Enrollment in minimum of 6 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester and 3 credit hours in the summer
- English proficiency
- Demonstrate proficient written and oral communication skills
- Friendly and professional attitude and good interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to establish and meet timelines
- Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds while loading event supplies, booth equipment, office supplies and paper. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
