Job Description
Job Responsibilities

Serves as one of four human resource specialists in the payroll branch that handles transactions affecting an employee's payroll check.

Receives and processes employee terminations for their final payroll check.

Coordinate’s payroll issues with the office of comptroller general and the state treasurer's office.

Keys and verifies information for agency new hires.

Serves as payroll individual by keying and ensuring all actions are processed before payroll is run by the comptroller general's office.

Receives and submits court ordered deductions, i.e., bankruptcy, child support and tax levies to the comptroller general's office.

Assists employees with questions relating to their payroll checks.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree and relevant experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:
(or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

A bachelor's degree and relevant human resource experience;
OR

An associate’s degree and two (2) years relevant human resource experience;
OR

A high school diploma and four (4) years relevant human resource experience.
