About the Role:The IT Systems Engineer is a pivotal role responsible for independently engineering and administrating IT infrastructure solutions, with a particular emphasis on storage, backup, compute, cloud, and network services. Tasked with ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of these systems, this role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving prowess, and autonomy. The Systems Engineer collaborates across teams to design, implement, and optimize IT systems while adhering to best practices and standards.

Your Contributions (include, but not limited to):Engineering and Administration:
compliance and timely recovery of critical data
Manage compute resources efficiently, optimizing workloads and resource allocation
Cloud Services Optimization:
Evaluate organizational requirements and select appropriate cloud services to support business objectives
Architect and deploy cloud solutions, leveraging automation tools for scalability and resilience
Continuously monitor and optimize cloud environments to minimize costs and improve performance
Cloud Network Administration:
Administer cloud network infrastructure
Independently design and engineer innovative solutions for storage, backup, compute, cloud, and network services
Administer storage infrastructure, overseeing provisioning, performance tuning, and data integrity
Implement backup strategies and procedures, ensuring compliance and support of requirements
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uninterrupted connectivity
Implement security measures and protocols to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats
Collaboration and Documentation:
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
Document system designs, configurations, and procedures comprehensively for knowledge sharing and compliance
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 2+ years of experience or a combination of equivalent experience, training, or certifications OR
Master's degree and some related work experience
Experience in IT systems engineering and administration roles, demonstrating a track record of autonomy and innovation
Knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and software-defined storage solutions
Proficiency in backup and recovery solutions, including hands-on experience with industry-leading platforms
An understanding of infrastructure as code, automation, and scripting to support automated provisioning of resource
Understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Relevant certifications in storage or cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, NetApp, Veeam) preferred
Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks effectively, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Understands Neurocrine's business objectives and developing understanding of Neurocrine's services and customers
Has experience in specific functional discipline while working to acquire higher-level knowledge and skills
Comfortable with tools and processes that support work conducted by functional area
Ability to work as part of a team
Strong computer skills
Good communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills
Detail oriented
Ability to meet deadlines
Good project management skills
