Position Summary:

As a representative of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, the Recruiting & Enrollment Advisor will be a fearless advocate for the College and its students – on the phone, in-person and online. The Recruiting & Enrollment Advisor makes a difference by helping students achieve their goal of obtaining a degree and is responsible for recruiting students.

The Recruiting & Enrollment Advisor will work diligently in a team-oriented, student-centric environment to provide exceptional student services and meet enrollment goals while embracing the mission and values of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College.

Reporting directly to the Marketing & Enrollment Manager, the Recruiting & Enrollment Advisor coordinates various programs and initiatives and assist with various enrollment goals for the division. As part of the College’s student success model for supporting students with a team of individuals assigned to personally help them, the Recruiting & Enrollment Advisor will serve a caseload of students from surrounding local high schools, including but not limited to dual-enrollment Career & College Promise students.

The ideal candidate will be a creative individual that is student focused and has a dynamic personality for large and small group presentations. Part recruiter, part success navigator, part career and academic advisor, this diverse role requires a high-energy individual that can work a flexible schedule. The Recruiting & Enrollment Advisor will work independently and must demonstrate the ability to make good decisions.

Required Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, human services, social work, or related field with at least four (4) years of related human services experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Incumbents may be required to obtain a Master’s degree within a time specified by the College.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:

Master’s degree from regionally accredited institution preferred.
Experience in higher education preferred.

Duty and Responsibility:

Counsel prospective students daily via face-to-face meetings, virtual meetings, telephone, email, and text communications to encourage campus visits as well as completion of the admissions and enrollment process. Conduct follow-up to determine their educational needs, concerns, interests, and career options. Utilize and maintain various student information systems and technology to track and communicate with prospective students and applicants, including management and maintenance of the CRM in conjunction with IT staff.

Duty and Responsibility:

Establish expertise in administering the Career and College Promise program, including recruiting, enrollment process, advising, registration, and compliance with all program requirements and state board code. Actively support student caseload.

Duty and Responsibility:

Develop and maintain relationships with local high school partners to explain benefits of the College programs, including, but not limited to Career and College Promise. Provide exemplary communication in a timely manner with counselors, prospects, students, and parents.

Duty and Responsibility:

Recruit high school and adult prospective students, assess their educational needs, and explain the benefits and objectives of the programs offered by the College. Identify and present accurate information to prospective students regarding degree requirements, program specific requirements, and financial aid assistance opportunities available to students.

Duty and Responsibility:

Actively participate in college/career fairs at high schools and other community outreach events. Assist with planning and facilitating recruiting activities for the College to include, but not limited to face-to-face information sessions, campus tours for school groups, individual prospective student visitors, and off-site recruiting events. Visit middle schools, high schools and community locations, speaks to groups and individual students. Meets with school counselors and administrators to promote outreach activities. Represents the College at collage and job fairs, businesses, conferences, and other events deemed relevant to reaching the goals and mission of the College. Communicate approved presentations to promote programs to prospective high school and adult students. Deliver recruiting presentations during high school classroom visits and business/industry visits.

Duty and Responsibility:

Closely assist and mentor new students through the admissions and enrollment process, including career and academic advising, planning, placement testing, and registration support utilizing specific knowledge about the vast array of College educational programs and degrees.

Analyze and evaluate strategic and targeted recruitment needs while generating creative and cost-effective ideas to innovate recruitment strategy. Continually look for innovative new ways to improve and expand upon recruitment strategies in conjunction with Director or Recruitment and Retention to increase inquiries, prospective students, yield/conversion rates, and meet enrollment goals.

Duty and Responsibility:

Coordinates College participation of staff, faculty, students, and alumni for college recruitment fairs; coordinates event-specific organizational aspects, promotional materials, table displays, and information from the vast array of College educational programs and degrees. Coordinates the development of promotional, recruitment, and marketing materials. Coordinates and participates in on campus and off campus recruitment events to enhance the College brand and reputation.

Duty and Responsibility:

Assist the Director of Recruitment and Retention in the following: 1. daily monitoring and management of inquiries, prospects, applications, and enrollment goals, 2. collaborating with Department of Institutional Effectiveness to develop and monitor data to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management, ROI, forecasting, and operational efficiency, 3. the development of new recruiting plan and strategy for the College, including sophisticated recruiting and enrollment plans that vary by program to ensure enrollment targets, 4. maintaining the master recruitment schedule with all scheduled recruitment events on an ongoing basis, and 5. to package, monitor, and distribute resource materials for student recruitment and retention programs; develops mentorship programs; analyzes trends in recruitment and retention programs; develops strategies for program evaluation.

Duty and Responsibility:

Assist academic programs in the development of individual program recruitment plans; promote and maintain awareness of programs and other student services. Provide multi-campus support during registration, special events, and tours.

Maintain awareness of new developments in fields of student offered at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College through personal research on the College’s website and catalog, conferences, and professional development classes. Leads personal projects for the team such as a uniform campus tour program.
