The Field Service Engineer II that supports our Agena Bioscience business has responsibility for providing on-site technical support, overseeing installation, calibration, repair, training, and maintenance tasks.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Office based Monday-Friday during core business hours unless travelling to customer sites.
  • Repair, install and maintain mass spectrometers, dispensing equipment, liquid handlers, computers/databases, and application software.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with Agena's Sales Representatives, Customer Service, Applications & Technology, Product Support and other departments to enhance professional support.
  • Perform, record, analyze data and interpret results from customer support projects, and present the results to customer support, application, and research and development teams.
  • Adhere to departmental protocol including, but not limited to, service call scheduling, parts ordering, Return Materials Authorization, service call logging and expense reporting.
  • Maintain ISO compliance through tasks such as completing field change orders, customer complaint handling, and instrument configuration documentation.
  • Attend scientific meetings and seminars as directed for further professional development.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Basic knowledge of IT and networking concepts, including Oracle Database.
  • Ability to perform effective and appropriate analytical, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills in time sensitive situations.
  • Contribute to the development of new plans, models, standards and techniques.
  • Widely uses and applies standard principles, theories, concepts and techniques in addition to a working knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Networks, shares knowledge, and keeps up-to-date with peers in the company.
  • Design and perform experiments under general supervision according to departmental needs, utilizing standard and process specific molecular biological methods.
  • Examine data and prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analysis and ensure experiments are well documented.
  • Efficiently completes many specialized tasks that frequently require the exchange of detailed technical or sensitive information; establishes protocols and procedures.

  • Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, electronics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of field service, customer support, technical support or similar customer-facing experience as an Engineer or Scientist.
  • Previous experience with sophisticated, complex and/or scientific laboratory equipment.
  • Experience in life science industry and with mass spectrometry is desirable.

Compensation/Benefits:

The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and compensation for this position. The package includes base salary, bonus, equity, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k/Match.

Salary Range for this position is $74,000 - $77,000.
