Baruch College, one of 11 senior colleges of the City University of New York, attracts motivated students of proven achievement. The Zicklin School of Business, the largest AACSB-accredited business school in the United States, offers an array of full-time, part-time, executive, and honors programs leading to BBA, MBA, MS, and PhD degrees.

The Narendra Loomba Department of Management includes a faculty group of approximately 100 full-time and part-time faculty involved in teaching and research related to an array of subject matter areas. These areas include: a) Business, Society, and Sustainability; b) Entrepreneurship; c) Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management; d) Operations Management; and e) Strategic Management.

The Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management at the Zicklin School of Business invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Strategy area, starting August 2021, subject to final budget approval.

The successful candidate would be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Strategy related to foundation courses as well as electives in strategic management and the international aspects of strategic management. In particular, we are seeking a lecturer to teach our capstone course focused on business policy and which all Zicklin undergraduate students are required to complete before graduation.


Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.

A MBA or MS degree is highly preferred while a Ph.D. degree in strategy or a related field is preferred but not necessary. Our ideal candidate will have related working experience in strategy, including but not limited to strategy consulting firms, corporate strategy department, to name a few. S/he will also have teaching experience in the strategy and business policy area. Among the knowledge and skills that are most desirable are an understanding of basic strategy frameworks such as Porter’s five forces, value chain analysis, Porter’s generic strategy, blue ocean strategy, corporate diversification and vertical integration. The ability to teach these contents in a global context is also highly preferred. In addition, the ability to clearly communicate this knowledge and teach these skills is essential. An interest in writing and research in the area of Strategy would be considered a strong positive. Finally, the successful candidate must contribute to the Department of Management as an active colleague.
