Position Summary

The Education Department seeks a dedicated intern to assist with the review and updating of our docent object and artist files. This role is essential to ensure that all educational materials are properly sourced and reflect current standards of language and accuracy. This is an 8-hour per week internship, approximately 13 weeks in duration.

Rodgers internships are for current students at Williams College and Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA).

Hourly Rate: $18.00

Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
 

  • Document Review: thoroughly read all documents in the object and artist files to assess their content and appropriateness.
  • Content Evaluation: identify and remove any documents that contain outdated or inappropriate language or content; prepare for further review by the education staff.
  • Modernization: seek modern replacements for outdated documents, ensuring all new materials are accurately cited.
  • Source Verification: verify the sources of existing documents; find and document sources; replace with similar, properly cited resources as needed.
  • Research: identify and label resources created by docents.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to critically evaluate and update educational materials.
  • Proficiency in conducting research and verifying sources.
  • Juniors and seniors only; art history major/minor; and interest in education.


Education, Training, and Skills
Applicants must be current junior or senior students at Williams College or Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA). 

Work Experience
Office experience helpful, but not required.
