Position Summary
Postdoctoral training and research investigating G protein and protein kinase signaling mechanisms. Position is in the laboratory of Dr. Henrik Dohlman, Professor and Chair of Pharmacology. Broadly speaking the laboratory investigates biochemical processes that lead to desensitization, prioritization of competing signaling pathways (e.g. cross talk inhibition), and dynamic tracking of a gradient stimulus. Approaches include yeast genetics, enzymology, protein biophysics and structural biology, as well as live cell microscopy and microfluidics. Past trainees have obtained positions at research universities, teaching colleges, biotechnology companies and in scientific publishing.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
PhD (or equivalent) in Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Cell Biology, or related field.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
A track record of publications and demonstrated competence in oral and written communication. Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to mentor student researchers.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience in microscopy, protein biochemistry and/or molecular biology.
