Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.

Teach 18 credit hours (day, evening, and/or weekends) per semester and maintain 10 hours of office time per week. Assignments may include such combinations of on-and off-campus, day, evening, and distance learning classes as the needs of the college require. Perform other duties related to student success.

Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.


KSA's/Required Qualifications
Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in discipline.
  • Community college and/or university teaching experience,
  • Experience teaching freshman/1st year college courses

Additional Considerations
  • Experience teaching developmental and learning support classes
  • Experience with technology in the classroom such as Canvas, on-line instruction, video conferencing, or similar delivery methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a culturally and educationally diverse student population.
