Job Description
The Department Head for Accounting and Information Systems at Grambling State University within the College of Business is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the academic, administrative, and strategic functions of the department. The successful candidate will provide visionary leadership to enhance the department’s reputation for academic excellence, research impact, and professional engagement. This role reports directly to the Dean of the College of Business and collaborates closely with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic vision and plan for the department in alignment with the overall goals of the College of Business and the university.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of undergraduate and graduate programs in Accounting and Information Systems.
- Ensure curriculum relevance and alignment with industry trends and professional standards.
- Support faculty in curriculum development, teaching effectiveness, and student advising.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- A distinguished record of scholarship, teaching, and service commensurate with a senior academic appointment.
- Significant administrative experience in higher education, preferably in a leadership role within a College of Business or similar academic unit.
Preferred:
- A terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA, or equivalent) in Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution.
