South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) seeks candidates for a part-time Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 1 in Allied Health.

This position supports the College’s mission to support student success in post-secondary academia transfer and workforce education that meets the needs of the South Sound region. This is seen by supporting efforts to implement, administer and coordinate instruction with students, staff and the public in regards to the Allied Health programs content, policies, procedures and activities in addition to ensuring compliance with all state and federal accrediting bodies.

What You'll Do

Nursing Lab Classroom Support


  • Assists and supports simulation lab manager with various tasks related to student learning in healthcare simulation/lab spaces.
  • Prepares, maintains, and resets learning labs with specified supplies, equipment, and support materials for learning activities.
  • Communicates with simulation lab manager about the needs of the simulation/lab environment
  • Routinely inspects and maintains the cleanliness and safety of the Nursing labs.
  • Disposes of lab materials in accordance with OSHA, MSDS and SPSCC safety standards
  • Applies general troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for equipment and supplies used in academic settings.
  • Changes and launders linen, on site, as needed.
Other
  • Maintains adequate inventory of lab supplies and communicates needs to lab manager.
  • Completes other general duties, reports, and paperwork assigned within the designated timeframe.
  • Keeps professionally current by participating in professional development and other activities.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications You Possess

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Six months to two years of fulltime experience/training in the appropriate discipline or equivalent education/experience
  • High School Diploma +/- vocational training
  • Experience in healthcare
  • Experience with a range of computer and software applications, specifically Microsoft Office suite
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the program

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates Degree
  • One year experience in healthcare of educational setting

Conditions of Part-Time Employment
Non-permanent employees under the provisions of WAC 357-19-435 are only authorized to work up to a maximum of 18 months from the original date of hire. Employment with the college could end any time.
