Description

Positions Available: The University of Oklahoma, Gallogly College of Engineering (GCoE), through its partnership with the Peggy and Charles Stephenson Cancer Center (SCC), invites applications and nominations for a faculty position in the area of medical imaging.  This is a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to start in Fall 2021. All areas of medical imaging will be considered, although particular emphasis will be placed on radiological cancer imaging, optical and/or cytogenetic cancer imaging, as well as computer aided diagnosis. This is an interdisciplinary cluster hire.  A key emphasis will be translational research and experiential learning that synergistically engages engineers and clinicians. The successful candidate will join the faculty of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) within the GCoE. Adjunct faculty appointment in the College of Medicine of the University of Oklahoma is also possible.

Gallogly College of Engineering: The GCoE has a strong and growing collaboration with the research and clinical community of the OU Health Sciences Center in nearby Oklahoma City, including the SCC, which has been recognized by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) as an NCI-designated cancer center with Lead Academic Site status in the National Clinical Trials Network. Since 2014, the SCC has been ranked number one in the nation annually for recruiting the number of patients participating in NCI-sponsored clinical trials.  The GCoE has strong graduate programs built on decades of biomedical engineering research through the interdisciplinary center-based research programs funded by prominent agencies and foundations. The medical imaging program in the School of ECE has achieved national prominence, with continual funding by NIH R01 grants. The GCoE holds strong the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We seek candidates who contribute to fostering an inclusive culture in all aspects of faculty responsibility, including within the classroom, the academic community, and within their professional commitments.
