Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Director of Administrative Services (DAS) at the Institute for Research in Electronics and Applied Physics oversees all administrative and financial operations. With over 100 sponsored research accounts and annual expenditures exceeding $21 million, IREAP is a dynamic research institute comprising two key sub-units: the Nanocenter, a recognized as a federal service center, and the Quantum Technology Center. The DAS plays a pivotal role in financial oversight, managing the institute’s budget, payroll, purchasing, and expenditures. Additionally, they supervise, organize, and mentor institute staff while coordinating sponsored research activities. Reporting directly to the Institute Director, the DAS collaborates closely with college-level administrative officers to ensure strategic alignment and operational efficiency. The DAS is responsible to help ensure complex procurements and research awards are managed effectively and efficiently following sponsor’s guidelines and regulations.
This position requires 7-10 years experience in complex research administration, procurement and human resource management as well as 5 years of supervisory experience.
