We are seeking an innovative Assistant Program Manager to help us drive the future of defense capabilities. In this role, you will shape and lead analyses that speed the delivery of technology to the warfighter by understanding engineering policy, test and evaluation policy, and systems engineering. Your contributions will support the Office of the Secretary of Defense and have broad relevance across all Services, the Joint Force, and the Interagency.

 

 

As an Assistant Program Manager, you will...

  • Assist the Program Manager in developing and sustaining strategic relationships with DoD sponsors.
  • Lead and contribute to analytic teams focused on emerging technology, net assessments, and policy and strategy development.
  • Oversee cost, schedule, and performance management for various projects, ensuring accurate planning and resource management.
  • Provide thought leadership in technology analyses across multiple domains, identifying critical needs and shaping analytic work.
  • Engage with multiple National Security communities and contribute to JHU/APL-wide technical forums.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in a technology-relevant field such as engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, chemistry, national security, economics, or operations research.
  • Have at least five years of relevant experience in research, technical development, national security, analysis, and/or systems engineering.
  • Have experience working with the DoD on test and evaluation.
  • Demonstrate a history of developing sponsor relationships and securing funding.
  • Understand major issues faced by the DoD, including defense strategy, operations research, RDT&E, and acquisition policy.
  • Have excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Hold an active Secret security clearance and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
