Buena Vista University is seeking a personable and organized individual for the Financial Aid Counselor position. This position facilitates daily business operations for the Financial Aid Office and serves as the primary contact who guides students and their families through processes and questions related to federal, state, and institutional financial aid. This role ensures ongoing communication with students and facilitates requirements originating from the Financial Assistance Office. This role provides financial assistance counseling to both current and prospective students, with a primary focus on support for the Storm Lake campus population. Additional duties include facilitating the Federal Work-Study program, completing exit counseling, and managing data and their respective systems accurately.
Qualified applicants should have strong customer service skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to adapt to customer and student needs. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Comparable work experience in an office and financial setting will be considered.
