Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. Germanna Community College is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Dean of Science and Technology.

The Administrative Assistant will provide full-time administrative support for the Dean of Science and Technology at the Fredericksburg Area Campus.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Executive office experience preferably in an academic setting.
  • Considerable skill in understanding and applying policies and procedures, preparing electronic and print reports, editing/proofreading formal correspondence.
  • Duties include but are not limited to:
    • Scheduling appointments and meetings; receptionist duties; office management; preparing meeting minutes and editing outgoing correspondence; preparing travel arrangements and purchase orders; planning and coordinating events, maintaining the budget, schedule production and meticulous filing.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to learn new systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Flexibility to work at different locations as needed
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities at once
  • Comfortable supporting a face-paced work environment
  • Experience with or willingness to learn AI tools

Additional Considerations
  • Experience working as an administrative assistant in a college or business setting
  • Purchasing/procurement experience in eVA
  • Experience using SIS Peoplesoft and/or Canvas LMS
