Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Research, Planning and Grants, the Director of Grants is responsible for assisting the college in seeking and securing external funds from federal and state entities. The Director will help lead cross-functional teams to develop, submit, and manage sponsored programs and projects. The Director will be responsible for managing sponsored programs, including the college’s Title III grant, and will work with project stakeholders and evaluators to ensure grant related activities are implemented, expenditures are allowable and adhere to project timeliness, and reporting is completed.
Minimum Qualifications:
This position will help grow the sponsored programs office at Reynolds Community College. Strong candidates will have experience conducting sound research to write compelling and persuasive proposals that demonstrate attention to detail and an understanding of postsecondary education and economic development; demonstrated ability to respond to federal and state solicitations, meet strict deadlines, and access, navigate, and submit grants using online portals; knowledge of and ability to integrate Reynolds’ strategic goals into grant proposals; and the ability to analyze data to develop proposals that advance the interests of Reynolds. Strong candidates will demonstrate project management experience, particularly in sponsored programs, and possess strong communication skills to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Applicants should be proficient users of Microsoft360 and other appropriate applications to the extent required to effectively perform the essential functions. A writing sample is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework in Public Administration, Research, or related field. Experience with research methodology, preferably in a higher education setting and involving development of Institutional Advancement. Current work experience in grants administration.
