The School of Earth Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences is hiring for a Post Doctoral Scholar. The Post Doctoral Scholar conducts mostly experimental and some modelling research on thermochemistry and thermal catalysis for energy sustainability applications. The Post Doctoral Scholar will be synthesizing materials, measuring/modelling materials structure, and properties, building and operating reactors, and analyzing techno-economics and energy effectiveness. This Post Doctoral Scholar also assists the Principal Investigator to mentor students and develop research projects in the research group. The work will be carried out mostly at the Scott Laboratory at the Ohio State University, as well as at our collaborators’ facilities.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirement:

Doctorate (Academic), Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science Engineering, or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent. Experience with thermochemistry or thermal catalysis.

Desired Experience: Previous experience of leading or co-leading a research project and/or writing research proposals.
