Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Operator supporting CONUS and OCONUS locations. Will be part of the BlueHalo pilot team, supporting flight operations on government and commercial facilities, mission planning, piloting manually operated and autonomous missions. When not flying will perform technician responsibilities and / or bench testing on UAS platforms, systems, and payloads for manufacturing and product development.

SKILLS

    Possess proficient fixed-wing, collective pitch helicopter and multirotor flight experience.
  • Plan and conduct UAS operations in COA and/or restricted airspace in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Possess familiarity with Pixhawk, Ardupilot and QGroundControl programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Possess experienced radio-controlled aircraft building techniques and operation.
  • Candidate must have basic knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
  • Candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Candidate must be able to multitask and work with several different subcomponents at a time.
  • Candidate must be able to safely and efficiency multitask in a fast-paced field environment and collaborate effectively in real-time with team members.
  • Possess knowledge of FAA and restricted airspace regulations applicable to the operation of UAS.
  • Ideally possess experience with basic circuitry, soldering, and hobby-grade instrumentation

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the operation, construction, and/or maintenance of UAS, support equipment, and other relevant hardware systems.
  • Review customer requirements for flight operations and deliverable requirements.
  • Conduct reporting actions associated with the completion of UAS operations and submission of customer data deliverables.
  • Develop and review technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, aircraft checklists, and flight training devices/equipment.
  • Meet and maintain minimum flight proficiency requirements as defined in current contracts.
  • Ability to work with integrated teams comprised of military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%; CONUS and/or OCONUS.

You're required to have this

YOU'RE REQUIRED TO HAVE THIS

  • Technical Degree or certification from an accredited college in a related aerospace discipline with 1-year minimum professional aviation experience (Manned or Unmanned) OR Equivalent education/experience combined, with minimum * High School Diploma with 3-year minimum professional aviation experience (Manned or Unmanned).
  • Possess and maintain a valid FAA 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
  • Ability to obtain, possess, and maintain a valid FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
  • Must have, or have ability to obtain, a minimum of a Secret level security clearance, which requires US citizenship and successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
