Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for a Senior Treasury Manager to join our Accounting Team in one of our Southern California offices. This role will manage the organization's treasury functions, including cash management, financial risk management, and investment activities. They will develop and implement strategies to optimize the company's liquidity, ensure the accuracy of financial transactions, and minimize financial risk as well as help identify new talent to grow the treasury team.

Duties and responsibilities:

Cash Management:

  • Oversee daily cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
  • Manage cash concentration, borrowing, and investment strategies.
  • Forecast cash requirements and monitor cash positions.

Financial Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess financial risks, including currency and interest rate risks.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and hedging programs.
  • Monitor and report on financial risk exposures.

Investment Management:

  • Develop and execute investment strategies for excess cash.
  • Monitor and manage investment portfolios.
  • Ensure compliance with investment policies and regulatory requirements.

Banking Relationships:

  • Maintain and develop relationships with banks and financial institutions.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions for banking services and credit facilities.
  • Monitor and manage banking fees and services.

Treasury Operations:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of treasury transactions.
  • Implement and maintain treasury management systems.
  • Prepare and present regular treasury reports to senior management.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay updated on relevant regulations and ensure the company's adherence.
  • Prepare and submit required financial reports and documentation.

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Supervises treasury department

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; required
  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; preferred
  • 15+ years of related experience: required
  • Experience with foreign currencies and interest rates; required
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and treasury operations; required
  • Experience managing treasury team; required
  • Financial modeling experience; preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in treasury management systems and financial software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Base salary range:

$163,000 to $187,000 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the California market.

Working conditions:

This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other general office equipment.

Physical requirements:

Ability to use standard office equipment. Sits for a prolonged period of time. On occasion may travel to another office within 20 miles radius.
