We are the Audio System Quality team, and we are looking for a Firmware QE Manager for advanced audio products like AirPods/AirPods Pro/AirPods Max. Description

This is a highly visible role where you will drive the vision and charter of the FW QE team! Your team will be responsible for ensuring that the different functional parts of the system are tested and quality is built in. We work cross-functionally with firmware and software teams to design and build firmware level tests. Your team will create /write/run the tests and collecting meaningful critical metrics to drive program quality. You will also bring your vision and experience to analyze field issues and gaps that could be plugged by firmware level tests. This is a very cross-functional role and you will identify and drive key focus areas. Metrics collected as part of this effort will be presented regularly to the executive team.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of lead or management experience
  • 2+ years of software development or testing experience
  • Strong advocate for quality, with good understanding of SQA methodologies & practices


Preferred Qualifications

  • Scripting skills (Python preferred)
  • Familiarity with hardware and software interaction for embedded systems
  • Knowledge of low-level and system level communication
  • Working knowledge of Bluetooth protocols
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self directed, analytical and work well in a large cross functional environment


Pay & Benefits

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $174,000 and $301,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
