Senior Systems Engineer - Public Trust Clearance

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with a Public Trust Clearance 3 years of Tier-3 Troubleshooting experience to support our Library of Congress effort. This is a remote/hybrid position

A week in the life of Senior Systems Engineer:
- Upgrade the enterprise monitoring software applications used on premise and maintain the services used for
- enterprise monitoring.
- Configure the Library's software and services to
- monitor hardware and software with and without the use of agents
- monitor hardware and software via SNMP
- collect and analyze log data
- collect and analyze NetFlow data
- interfaces such as Application Programming Interfaces APIs
- Configure the library's software and services to perform the following
- transaction tracking within applications
- predictive analysis for hardware and software events
- automated responses to events
- Upgrade and update each of the on-premises enterprise monitoring applications to maintain all systems to current software release including security patches
- Adhere to the vendor's best practices and the Library's processes and practices when planning and executing upgrades and updates
- Implement visualizations (such as dashboards) for technical and non-technical users in formats suited to their roles and necessary to fulfill their responsibilities.
- Implement alerting and notifications for the IT systems and their components
- Provide Tier-3 network operation and engineering support as identified by the Library
- Tier-3 network support engineers' availability is required for evenings and weekends as required for Library change Authorization Board (CAB) approved network changes
- Tier-3 network engineering support is required for technical emergencies and onsite support
- Must deliver Tier-3 network support engineering in case of a service disruption at the Library
- Network Edge Support - Provide Tier 3 troubleshooting, technical configuration settings, documentation, security settings, and schedule for delivery
- 5 years of Systems Engineer experience.
- Three (3) years of hands-on experience performing enterprise monitoring with the following tools: Prometheus/Grafana, Cacti, Elastic, New Relic, ServiceNow ITOM, andCisco DNA Center.
- In addition, the engineers shall have at least three (3) years of experience providing Tier-3 troubleshooting of network incidents, applying patches, configuring network settings, and writing technicaldocumentation.

- ACTIVE/CURRENT PUBLIC TRUST CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
