We are looking for a qualified Human System Integration Engineer to join our team. The candidate can work in our San Diego, CA, or Arlington, VA offices. Some hybrid work arrangements may be possible, providing flexibility for our team members.

Position Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) and Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific working on the digital transformation of the Naval Operational Architecture, model-based systems engineering of critical Naval cross-domain mission threads, and cybersecurity engineering of the next-generation Naval information systems and tactical networks. Decision Technologies seeks motivated individuals with broad skillsets and experience who can demonstrate a history of achievement in engineering services for the Navy or larger DoD.

MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET OR TS/SCI CLEARANCE

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Review, assess, and provide advice in the development of engineering processes for Navy-related programs and projects
  • Research analysis of missions, tactics, equipment, interfaces, and resource allocations to new and developing systems and programs.
  • Provide systems engineering support in analyzing or projecting the performance of future systems, ensuring missions are traceable to Required Operational Capabilities and other mission-level requirements.
  • Develop functional analysis of capabilities to include consistent application of policies, requirements, standards, and processes, to include Human System Integration (HSI) requirements and plans, CONOPS, CONEMPs, and TTPs.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Four years of experience in Government related R&D, T&E, and systems acquisition programs.
  • At least two years of experience in any of the following:
  1. Comparative multi-domain HSI engineering analysis, impact assessments, and trade-off studies of complex systems.
  2. Design, installation, integration, and test support in a laboratory or direct applications.
  3. Design documentation/specification development.
  4. Test planning and test procedures development, test conduct, analysis, and reporting. e. HSI-related engineering requirements, performance and risk analysis.
  5. Applying engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate systems.
  6. Applying engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition, training, and resource management.
  7. Conducting Task Analyses (e.g., Mission Task Analysis, Top-Down Functional Analysis, Critical Task Analysis).
  8. Design, installation, integration, and test support either in a laboratory or operational systems.
  9. Understand Naval operations from unit level through operational staff and headquarters planning.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools, such as Cameo or MagicDraw.
  • Experience developing modeling schemas, ontologies, and model dictionaries.
  • Experience working in various modeling frameworks, such as DoDAF, UAF, or organization-specific custom frameworks.
  • Experience with DoD DevSecOps pipelines such as Platform One, Kessel Run, or Black Pearl
  • Experience with SW factories, SW development tools, and SW test pipelines
  • Experience with Openshift Containerization Platform 4.8/4.10
  • Familiarity and experience working with Navy radars, electro-optical and infrared sensors, guns, missiles, electronic warfare, and other warfare systems.

Travel Requirements:

  • 25% to various Naval activity centers, including San Diego, CA; Washington, DC; Norfolk, VA; Charleston, SC; Denver, CO; and Hawaii.
